Soooo I missed Saturday but that's what Mondays are for, right? xD Happy Meet and Greet Monday my dearest, I come bearing a Question about the B&N characters! And it is about Fonts! Because.. because! (I random that way xD) If the B&N characters could pick a favourite font, what would it be?
and right on time is the 5pm prompt! i’m pre-scheduling all of tomorrow’s posts now as well, so this won’t happen again!
_-_-_-_
we’re winding down today with a question for you all!
what inspired the creation of your wip? what made you decide this is the story I want to write?
Bonds and Negotiations, in the current form, started in 2018 while I was at a local craft fair trying to raise money for my service cat Sota’s vet bills when he was going through kidney failure. Sadly he didn’t make it. I spent the following bit not working on it except for an occasional inspiration piece I’d reblog.
Then last year I was going through some of my really old notes from middle school and discovered one of my steno marked story bits without a name which happened to have many of the same elements and the same base characters. Including notes on my dragonbloods, their culture and language.
Then one day I was talking to a peep about conlangs and the program they use to work on them. That was the fuse needed to start working on Yumpiw, the language of the ‘amubaw (dragonbloods). I’ve been slowly building the dictionary for the language, along with the customs, though it’s not the fastest process building an entire culture.
I had intended to do more for this years @writeblrsummerfest but things keep going wrong in life, including Winston, my current service pup, might have cancer, though it is looking like it was just a bad infection that meds treated. Now if I could just manage to make it to the vet to get the confirmation test.

*beams* thank you sweetheart (@pen-for-sword)! If the primary characters of B&N had favorite fonts from our world they would be:
Red stars and candle background, words: Baskerville Old Face is a nice, plain, readable font. -Talos
Blue stars and candle background, words: Chiller can be all sorts of fun. -Thom
Blue stars and candle background, words: Comic Sans MS is my fav! I don’t get people’s problems with it. -Dinama
Blue stars and candle background, words: Scriptina is beautiful and elegant. Perfect. -Awlama
Thom has never seen the ocean, not even through Shallow’s eyes when he borrows his familiar’s vision. He wishes to some day visit the Palace of Dhashuu, which sits on a small island off the coast.
The first time he visits it, he carefully leaves his hover chair with Talos’ help, and settles in the sand, using Shallow’s eyes to gaze in wonder. The ocean is so much more than he ever expected. It seems more vibrant than anyone has described it to him.
A part of him wonders if that is due to using his familiar’s vision. Shallow often views things the way a faery ferret does, which differs from a human from what he can tell. Not shocking, since that’s what his familiar is, even if they are closer bonded then most.
He loses track of time as he enjoys the cool breeze dancing across his face. The way the air is tinged with salt and something else he can’t easily put a name to. He’ll ask a local about it later, to see if it has a name. The water drifting back and forth over his toes tickles, thicker than he’s used to feeling.
It’s wonderful, too much and not enough as he watches the sunset over the ocean, light it in purple to pink and orange flames.
ohhhh he can borrow his familiar’s vision! that’s really cool! and yessss ocean sunsets are prettyyyy
*grins* he can! The first time was totally an accident. They both freaked out a bit since suddenly both could see through the faery ferret’s eyes. After they had Rhe check them, and slowly worked on learning to control the changes between them.
@pen-for-sword said in their lovely notes: #INDONESIA TANAH AIR KU *patriotic music intensifies in the background as I stumble with anthem lyrics* #asfasdfasd #I excited to see a place that’s based on my country aaaa#other people’s awesome moodboards #so prettyyyyyy
OH THIS IS AMAZING i love the way you did the border!
It looks so lush!
*beams* thank you so much! It’s a primarily tropical country, though a few parts of the northern borders are in temperate zones. A lot of the inspiration for the clothing and buildings comes from different parts Indonesia.
